Darren started his media career as an intern journalist with ABC Radio News in the mid-90s, doing voiceovers on Triple J and had a commercial on Channel 7. Hundreds of his tweets have appeared on Q&A on ABC-TV in the last decade. He published a book of poetry called Totally Random Poems for Kids in 2012, and What’s the Chance? and Uncertainty! in 2024. Some of his poems are also on his website.

Darren currently teaches Year 2 and still works in the media.
