This week prompt is to write from a child’s perspective. Write a poem about yourself pretending you are a child in which nothing is true.
Please send prompt poems and any other poems to:

Thankyou
I am on LSL from 28/6 to 30/7. My husband and I are travelling with our caravan to the tip of Cape York and as a result we will be out of range at times especially in “The Cape”. To keep things running well I would like to schedule a month ahead for this time. I was thinking that we could have a spotlight month in July in which the regulars send in 3-4 poems and a paragraph of what you are doing re poetry in 2018. I would need 12 of you to contribute to this idea. If you would like to be part of this please send me the poems and paragraph in Word by Friday 22/6.
Cheers
Jeanie
And todays quote:

Great idea, Jeanie, at an appropriate time for me, also. The Melbourne Poets Union is publishing a chapbook of John’s and my poetry ‘in dialogue’. It is called Lines Between Virginia Lowe and John Lowe and is being launched by Judith Rodriguez on 12 August. About 12 poems from each of us, on the same theme or incident – some suitable for kids, nothing inappropriate. John’s are possibly too philosophical for most kids – as is his style. But mine are mainly more domestic – you know my style. (In itself it is a celebration of almost 50 years of marriage.) I’ll need to sort out kids’ poems you haven’t had. One from the Lines Between pamphlet, perhaps. Back in a few days. Enjoy Cape York! It’s on my bucket list, but I’ll never get there I’m sure. Dear Jeanie May I join your band of contributors? Even if I only help make up the numbers, I’d love to keep contributing. Writing children’s poetry is such fun! Why didn’t I think of it before? I will not be offended if you decline …. I offer just in case….happy holiday planning – Jan

Dear Jeanie, Iâve been through my oeuvre looking for poems suitable for kids. Iâve discovered about 8 and I realise you probably wouldnât want that many. Trouble is my Primary Vignettes are very short ones describing the school experience in the 1950s and there are quite a few and Iâm not sure if they would interest kids today or not. Iâm inclined to send you the lot (theyâre attached) but Iâll discuss them with John over tea and if we can pick out three or four specifically, Iâll let you know. Have done â maybe âthe Smallest Roomâ and âDescribing Tomâ are two of the ones you could leave out, but itâs entirely up to you. Enjoy Cape York, you lucky thing â Virginia Dr Virginia Lowe Create a Kids’ Book http://www.createakidsbook.com.au PO Box 2, Ormond Victoria 3204 ph: 03 9578 5689 mob: 0400 488 100 “Stories, Pictures and Reality: Two children tell” (Routledge 2007) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Create-a-Kids-Book/216518838392741
