  1. Loved your poem Jen. Reminded me of one of mine. it is the poem for 1992 i think, in my Myopic’s Vision: a poetic memoir’ (Ginninderra) to be launch in a couple of weeks. It has a poem for every year of my life. Warm regards, Virginia

    Insomnia

    Lying awake

    thoughts scurry like ants

    whose activity seems random

    only because we cannot perceive

    their method of communication

    or understand their underlying plan

    Freneric pest-like thoughts

    randomness only apparent

    Recognise their orderliness,

they are trying to tell you something

They are being thrown up for a reason

    Thoughts that swarm like pests

can be herded into a poem
