Administrator Needed

Good Evening,

A call out for a new Administrator for the site. This needs to be filled by the start of June as I’m going travelling and won’t be continuing with the administration. I have all the instructions ready for someone who could put their hand up. If we can’t find someone I’m sorry the site will have no new content added. It will still be accessible through WordPress as a resource on the internet but no new poems will be added.

It would be wonderful if one of you reading this could think about doing this job or email please to someone you think could do it.

Anyway email me if your interested.

Kind Regards

Jeanie Axton

  1. I’m so sorry Jeannie. I know I could do it, and I am a poet as well as a children’s literature person, but I’m 79 and just too old to take on another responsibility. I still do the odd assessment and teach creative writing at U3A, and belong to two book groups and two poetry workshops, as well as being Carer for John. He is prone to falls and has a walker now. So you see… I do hope you find someone in time. Where are you going overseas? Incidentally I saw your name on Instagram today. l was looking for someone I knew as Dinny Cullican who married someone Ward – so I looked in Dinny Ward. It listed all her friends, or some of them, and it was the oddest thing. As well as six or more children’s lit people, there was Pip Jordan who is a brother of my sister in law Sarah, and my friend Shelly Marcus. People from three quite separate areas of my life, all there together. Of course it could be another Dinny. Is she the one who taught children’s lit at ACU Melbourne and was married to Bill Cullican, the archaeologist? I requested a following, anyway. I want to send her an invitation to the launch of my poetic memoir (one poem for each year of my life) The Myopic’s Vision. I’d invite you too, but you’ll obviously be o/s (it’s Wed 14th June) and i don’t know if you’re in Melbourne or not, anyway. Warm regards, Virginia

  2. Dear Jeanie,

I would like to congratulate you for the way you have developed this site.

It’s wonderful that you are travelling. I think it is vitally important that the site continues. Maybe, someone in education will take it on.

    Congratulations on your achievement.

Unfortunately, I have wonky knees. And my other commitments preclude my taking it on.

But BIG Thanks, Will you be over here? Can we please keep in touch?

    xxKatherine.

  3. Thank you for the huge effort you’ve put into the site, Jeanie. I hope you find someone for the job. Best wishes for happy and safe travels.

    Bill.

  4. Hi Jeanie,

If you haven’t had responses from anyone else then I would be happy to help out. Would this be a permanent thing or keeping things going whilst you’re away?

    Hear from you soon.

    Warm regards Kerry

  5. Thanks so much Jeanie for all the work you’ve put into keeping this vital resource alive. I’ve so much enjoyed having a welcoming platform for my own poems as well as having the opportunity to read the work of so many people with a similar interest in writing poetry for children. You certainly deserve an admin break. Enjoy your travels.
