Anzac Day (Nonet) by Cody

As light creeps slowly we remember,

Those who fought and risked lives in war.

Now they rest eternally,

We will remember them.

We thank the fallen.

Lest we forget,

ANZAC Day.

They die,

Fell.

  1. You have written a poem that helps us pause and remember.

I like how in the first line you have a rhythm that has a slow pace like a slow march. You used stressed long vowels in the words, ‘light creeps slowly we’. You also used the traditional ‘we remember’ at the end of the line which has so many memories for readers of past Anzac days, and marches.

Thank you for your poem. J
