I watch him play,
Anticipation in his eyes
As the ball’s thrown high,
He lunges into air,
Retrieving it.
He drops the ball
Next to my feet,
Looks up at me,
Tail wagging desperately
For another throw.

Who couldn’t ride his bike
He tried every day

and anything else near her lips.
She soon grew so wide
